Liverpool team news: Injuries, suspensions and line-up vs West Ham

Everything you need to know ahead of the Premier League clash at Anfield on Saturday Liverpool return to action 10 days after their Champions League demolition of Porto by hosting West Ham with the intention of stretching their unbeaten run to five games in all competitions. Jurgen Klopp fitted in a short warm-weather camp in Marbella during the break and believes his players are "100% fit" having benefited from rotation as well as greater conditioning. The Merseysiders, currently third in the standings, have designs on ending the domestic season as Manchester City's closest competitors and want to erase Manchester United's two-point advantage over them in second. LIVERPOOL INJURIES No fresh issues have been reported, with Joe Gomez returning to the bench at the Estadio do Dragao following a knee problem. Nathaniel Clyne will not be rushed back into the fold after undertaking several full training sessions after recovering from a back injury. Klopp will provide a full update on his squad at Melwood on Friday afternoon. SUSPENSIONS Emre Can returns from a one-game continental ban, but for the visitors, Arthur Masuaku is serving a six-game suspension for spitting. LIVERPOOL POTENTIAL STARTING LINE-UP Klopp should stick with largely the same XI that dispatched Porto 5-0, with potential to refresh the flanks and alter the midfield. Adam Lallana and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be hoping for starts, while Emre Can could be restored in the centre of the park following his suspension in Portugal. Virgil van Dijk and Dejan Lovren's two appearances as a partnership has been very promising and it will be interesting to see if Klopp continues with the combo or switches Joel Matip back in.

'Man Utd's problems are not just with Pogba' - Keane places blame on Lukaku & Sanchez

The former Red Devils midfielder has backed the under-fire Frenchman, and believes that United's problems lie elsewhere on the pitch Roy Keane insisted Paul Pogba is not at the centre of Manchester United's problems as he criticised Romelu Lukaku and new signing Alexis Sanchez. Pogba was named among the substitutes before he replaced injured team-mate Ander Herrera after 17 minutes in United's 0-0 draw at Sevilla in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Wednesday. The France international has dominated headlines amid a reported feud with manager Jose Mourinho, having been substituted in Premier League defeats to Tottenham and Newcastle United.

Jose Mourinho defends Man Utd tactics after draw at Sevilla

An irritable Jose Mourinho defended Manchester United's tactics after their goalless draw at Sevilla in the Champions League last-16 first leg. Mourinho's side registered just six shots to Sevilla's 25, though many of the hosts' efforts were from outside of the box and left David de Gea untroubled. But when asked if Alexis Sanchez is the sort of player who appreciates detailed tactical instruction rather than being given a free role, Mourinho seemed irked by the question, and responded in defiance at his tactical approach to the first leg. I think you are all, or many of you, are in a new sport! In England, some guys say the wingers shouldn't defend. "The next time I see David Beckham I'm going to ask him: 'David, when you were playing right wing at Manchester United, when the opposition left-back attacked, do you stay looking at the stands? Or do you come back with the guy?' I'm going to ask David that. "And everybody knows that I'm not big friends with Roy Keane or Paul Scholes, but I will ask them: 'When your team lost the ball, did you drop back? Or did you stay walking on the pitch?' "Because now it looks like all the good players have to play free, and when the team has the ball, which I think is such a stupid thing to say. When a team has the ball, you attack. When the team does not have the ball, you defend.

Marcus Rashford could be forced to leave Manchester United, says Dennis Wise

Marcus Rashford could be forced to leave Manchester United to secure regular first-team football, according to Dennis Wise. The 20-year-old, who has missed the club's last two matches with a hip problem, hasn't started a Premier League match since the 2-2 draw against Burnley on December 26 and with the January arrival of Alexis Sanchez, the England international has subsequently been limited to 19 minutes of league football. Rashford, who burst onto the scene with a debut double on his senior debut against Midtjylland in the Europa League in 2016, is behind Romelu Lukaku in Jose Mourinho's pecking order of attackers and has often played in a wide attacking role rather than as an out-and-out striker. When asked whether Rashford may need to leave Old Trafford with both Lukaku and Sanchez signed on long-term deals, Wise told Premier League Daily: "At some stage if he doesn't get regular football that will be something of a consideration for him further down the line. "There are some quality players that they have brought in. There is Lukaku that he has got to try and get himself in front of - I am not sure he will.

Jose Mourinho expects Man Utd to score few goals in Champions League clash with Sevilla

Jose Mourinho does not expect Manchester United to score many goals in their Champions League last-16 tie against Sevilla and has played down the idea of his side being favourites. The Portuguese expects a tough game against the Spanish side, whom he insists thrive in cup competitions and provide a hostile environment at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan - the venue for Wednesday night's first leg. "With Sevilla, I don't think it's possible to score many goals," Mourinho told MUTV. "I think the game is going to be really competitive. "They can say what they want; they can be nice to us and say we are favourites - that means absolutely nothing. "I think I prefer to say they have good players and a good team and a good mentality for the knockout matches. Sevilla is a club of cups and now they have the chance to play in the biggest competition of all, so the motivation is obviously even bigger. "For me, the word 'favourite' or 'not favourite' means nothing. They have good defensive organisation; they defend with everybody. [Sevilla boss Vincenzo] Montella is Italian and Italian coaches know how to organise their teams very compact from the defensive point of view. "I can see easily now the distances between the wingers and the full-backs are much shorter. The wingers drop back to compact with the full-backs; not like in England.
