Manchester United 1-1 Club America: Juan Mata goal earns friendly draw

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said Thursday's 1-1 pre-season draw with Club America in Arizona "pushed us to levels we are not prepared for". United had to come from behind against the Mexican side as Juan Mata's 78th-minute strike cancelled out Henry Martin's opener on 59 minutes. The Premier League side were without many key players after the World Cup. Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and English duo Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford were among those missing. David de Gea, Nemanja Matic and new Brazilian signing Fred are expected to join the team next week. Alexis Sanchez is also due to join the team shortly in the United States after resolving his visa issues. The Chile forward, who accepted a 16-month suspended jail sentence in February for tax fraud, missed the start of the tour as he was unable to get a US visa. Both sides had to contend with hot conditions as temperatures reached 40C, and Mourinho told MUTV: "They were a team with intensity and quality so it was a good training session for us."

Joe Hart: Pep Guardiola wants 'solution' for Manchester City goalkeeper

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says he wants to "find a solution" for Joe Hart so the England goalkeeper does not have to see out the final year of his contract at Etihad Stadium. Hart is back at City after unsuccessful loan spells at Torino and West Ham. The 31-year-old is third choice behind Ederson and Claudio Bravo, and there appears little chance of him playing for the Premier League champions. "Joe is our player. I know it is not easy for him," said Guardiola. So far the tentative interest in Hart - who has 75 England caps, but was left out of the World Cup squad - has come from overseas clubs. There is less than three weeks until the English transfer deadline on 9 August - although players can move abroad up to 31 August. "We will try and find a solution," said Guardiola, who added that he is prepared for Hart to "stay here" if no acceptable offer materialises. Guardiola 'not disappointed' over Jorginho The only significant alterations so far to the City squad that won last season's Premier League with a record 100 points and 106 goals have been the departure of veteran midfielder Yaya Toure and the arrival of Riyad Mahrez from Leicester for a club record

Rangers: Ibrox club contact Police Scotland over racist abuse footage

Rangers have contacted Police Scotland after footage emerged of a fan seeming to racially abuse a child before the club's Europa League tie in Macedonia. The footage, which has been condemned by the club's fans on social media, ends with the man saying "white power" to a group of Macedonian children. It was apparently filmed before the goalless first qualifying round second leg against Shkupi on Tuesday. A statement said that Rangers "will take the appropriate steps". It added: "This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and Rangers have been in touch with Police Scotland." Police Scotland confirmed that they have brought the footage to the attention of their Macedonian counterparts and are "providing them assistance in their investigation". Charity Show Racism the Red Card said they "are disgusted by the racism and dehumanisation" in the footage and asked anyone with information to get in touch.

Alexis Sanchez: Forward given 'green light' to join Man Utd team-mates in USA

Manchester United say forward Alexis Sanchez has been given the go-ahead to join up with his team-mates in the United States. Sanchez , who accepted a 16-month suspended jail sentence in February for tax fraud, missed the start of the tour as he was unable to get a visa. United said on Thursday the Chilean had been given the "green light" to travel. Sanchez, 29, is set to link up after Friday's game with Club America (03:00 BST). United boss Jose Mourinho said on Wednesday that Sanchez was "sad" to miss the start of the tour. "It's not good for him or me, not good for anyone," added Mourinho. "There is no-one to blame - the club is making an effort. I have to respect the US authorities in their process of selection of visas." Sanchez posted a picture on Instagram on Thursday of him training in Manchester, with the word "soon" next to a US flag.
