Sergio Aguero says he could leave Man City in 2020 to return to Argentina

Sergio Aguero has reiterated his desire to return to Independiente when his contract at Manchester City expires. The 29-year-old joined City in 2011, signing from La Liga side Atletico Madrid. During his six years in Manchester, Aguero has been prolific and has become a legendary figure. He has just over two years left on his contract at the Etihad and says he wants to head back to his first club when his time is up in Manchester. Speaking to Fox Sports Argentina, he said: "I always said that I would like to return to Independiente when my contract ends with City, which is in 2020. I am not thinking about that now. I am focused on finishing the season well and reaching the World Cup." Aguero is currently on international duty with Argentina as they prepare to play Spain at Atletico's Wanda Metropolitano stadium on Tuesday, live on Sky Sports Football from 8.25pm.

Arsene Wenger says criticism during time as Arsenal manager is because of 'age discrimination'

Arsene Wenger has suggested some of the criticism he has faced as Arsenal manager has been because of age discrimination. The 68-year-old has faced calls to leave the Gunners - who face Stoke on Sunday, live on Sky Sports - after their failure to qualify for the Champions League last season, as well as their 14-year wait to win another Premier League title. But Wenger believes a lack of success on the pitch may not be the only factor in the criticism coming his way, telling BeIN Sport: "When you age, you focus on doing well for your club and ignore all the rest. The older you get, the more it becomes age discrimination. "I accept if the results are not good enough then you have to take the consequences. But overall that perpetual thing of how long you have been at a club, how old you are, I find that a bit difficult to take. "But all the rest I have to accept because I am in a public job and have to make results and I accept I will be judged on results." Wenger has won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups during his 22 years with Arsenal and believes that, when he does finally leave the Emirates, the club's fans will remember him for what he did for the club. He said: "I am maybe naive enough to believe that with the time going on, with perspective and context what will stand out is what I have done for my club and not so much the result of the last game or how much I will be applauded when I stop one day. "I'm a little bit fed up of all that modern thing about completely taking care of image. I've always worked my whole life with the idea of who you are rather than how you look so I'm not too concerned about that."

Liverpool's Simon Mignolet committed to proving himself in training

Simon Mignolet has vowed to stay and fight for the goalkeeper's jersey at Liverpool. The Belgium international has not played for the Reds since the 3-2 defeat against West Brom in the FA Cup on January 27. Mignolet, who turned 30 this month, has lost out to Loris Karius as Liverpool's No 1 but says he does not feel the need to move away from Anfield. "No, always the only thing you try to do is prove every time in training you are ready for when the chance comes along. "It is never easy of course because I have never in my career spent time on the bench, but it is how it is and the only thing you can do is try to change it but it is never easy." Mignolet admits that he has spoken to Jurgen Klopp about the situation but he is adamant there is no question of him putting in a transfer request. "I've had a few conversations with the manager already and we have spoken about numerous things. "I'm always open and he's always open, you know how he is, but at this time it is not the time and place to do that". While Mignolet has been forced to watch Karius from the bench at Liverpool, he has also had to play second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois in the Belgium team. But he will start for his country in Tuesday's international friendly against Saudi Arabia after Courtois returned to Chelsea for treatment on a continuing "muscular problem". "You always have to be ready for when the chance comes along," Mignolet added". "That's the only thing I can do so I try to stay professional in training, try to work as hard as I can, show that I'm ready for whenever the chance happens. "That's the only thing you do really, then it is up to the manager or the coach to give you the nod."

Jose Mourinho is 'destroying' Luke Shaw with public criticism, insists Matt Le Tissier

Matt Le Tissier believes Jose Mourinho is "destroying" Luke Shaw and a summer exit from Manchester United looks inevitable for the left-back. Mourinho hauled the 22-year-old off at half-time in Saturday's FA Cup win over Brighton and, not for the first time this season, publicly criticised some of his players' personality after the 2-0 victory. Le Tissier suggests Mourinho might be bitter because Shaw chose to join United rather than his Chelsea side back in 2014, when he departed Southampton for a then world-record fee, in excess of

John Marquis scored twice as Doncaster Rovers eased their relegation concerns with a hard-fought League One victory against an out-of-form Bradford City.

Timothee Dieng had a header cleared off the line and Alex Gilliead shot wide as Bradford edged the first half. But the hosts broke the deadlock when Marquis powered in a close-range header from Niall Mason's teasing cross. The Bantams struggled to respond and Marquis drilled home in added time to put the result beyond doubt. Simon Grayson is yet to win from four games in charge of Bradford, who stay seven points adrift of the final play-off spot with nine matches remaining. Rovers climb three places to 14th, seven points clear of the bottom four, with top scorer Marquis moving onto 12 goals for the season.

Blackpool's youth team making headlines against backdrop of ongoing unrest

The present is gloomy at Blackpool, but the future could be bright. On Tuesday, the Tangerines face Arsenal in the first leg of their FA Youth Cup semi-final, attempting to become the first third-tier side for 30 years to reach the final. They have won five away games to reach the last four, and beaten three clubs with category one academies - the highest status. It is a fine achievement, made more remarkable because it comes against the backdrop of ongoing unrest at the club that means many long-standing fans will refuse to go to Bloomfield Road for Tuesday's match. Instead, they will be meeting the Football League as the latest move in their attempt to get Blackpool's owners, the Oyston family, out of the club. 'In any war there will be casualties' A significant number of Blackpool supporters are engaged in a long-running campaign against the club's owners, who have sued fans on a web forum for libel, such is the toxic relationship between them and those who follow the club. The 'Not A Penny More' initiative calls on supporters to engage in an 'ethical' protest. For some, that means attending games but not spending money in the stadium. Others do not attend home games. The most hardline will not go to any games, home or away, until the Oystons no longer own the club. There have been appeals for the club to offer free admittance for the Youth Cup tie to non-season ticket holders, but these have been rejected. Tim Fielding, honorary vice-president of the Blackpool Supporters' Trust said: "It is a black-and-white issue. "The Youth Cup team have done a fantastic job. Ordinarily I, and many others, would love to be there to support them. But in any war there will be casualties, and they are caught in the crossfire." Coincidentally, the Football League has chosen 20 March as the date when it will meet representatives of the major Blackpool supporters' groups to listen to their concerns about the club's owners. The meeting starts at 19:00 GMT - the same time the Youth Cup semi-final kicks off.

Jose Mourinho: Manchester United manager looking outdated - Chris Sutton

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is "looking outdated" and his personality has changed, says former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton. Mourinho has been criticised by some United fans and pundits for a style of football perceived to be unadventurous. United are second in the Premier League and in the FA Cup semi-finals, but went out of the Champions League last week. Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright told BBC Radio 5 live he "would not want to play for Mourinho right now". United are 16 points behind Manchester City in the league with eight matches remaining and will face Tottenham next month for a place in the FA Cup final. But while City have scored 85 league goals this season, United have scored only 58 - the fewest in the top four. The Red Devils were knocked out of Europe by Sevilla, who won 2-1 at Old Trafford, while both City and Liverpool progressed to the quarter-finals. Sutton, speaking on the Monday Night Club on BBC Radio 5 live, said: "Mourinho is a changed personality from the charismatic one that first came over in 2004. He is picking silly, personal squabbles. "Is it disastrous for Manchester United at the moment? No. "But is this what Mourinho's remit was, to come in and finish behind City and not push for major trophies? He is rattled. "He looks across the city, and the style of football they and Liverpool play. This is a guy who first came on to the scene and was regarded as a genius. Now he is looking outdated in the way his team plays and the way other teams play."
